4th Youth Workshop
March 14, 2023
Today was our 4th workshop for Mosaic Firefly. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop today as we explored how to act out scenes and how to improve our acting. We began the workshop through a familiar warm up game. This warm up game was a great way to engage everyone in what we were doing, and really got everything involved. Since everyone knew how to play as well, everyone seemed to be more comfortable with it. I thought that it was an
amazing way to build confidence and improve eye contact.
Next, we began to act our small scenes as a way to get prepared for acting out stories. It was a great way to be prepared to act out actual scenes, and on the way, we were learning to improve our acting. I loved how we were taught a bit of theater, and through listening to that, we were able to improve how we act. Finally, we were listening to my parents immigration story. It was nice hearing it from another person, even if I knew the story. I think that many people could relate to it, which was a nice feeling. Knowing that there’s some people who relate to my story, gives me a sense of comfort. We acted out my story and I helped guide it even if I was playing the role of both my parents. It was so much fun playing out the story and bringing it to life. Interacting with one another was enjoyable and I love talking and laughing with my peers! Overall, this workshop was a great learning experience and an amazing time. I look forward to the next workshops.
